A quick question about motor mount inserts

For the record, the front clip was off of my car too. It was easier to swap the mount completely than to get it to line up.

You asked. I thought I had the 'truck' mounts, it would not go in on one side, or vice versa.

So, I bought brand new reproduction car mounts. Still only one side would fit at a time.

I pried.

I wedged.

I lined it up with a line up punch.

I beat a starter headed, or pointed style bolt into it...until it spread the cup apart and destroyed it.

I tried without the trans hooked up.

I took off the driver side and swapped it for a parts store version, motor slipped right in. I would normally have done that on the passenger side, but, I was stubborn like you, and was determined to "make it work" and I mangled several bolts and one motor mount cup and bent the tangs on the driver side poly insert....I popped it out in frustration....slipped a stocker in there....motor fell into place.

If that is what you want to deal with, get on it. Hell, I will send you the damn thing!

Haha thanks for the reply...now you have me leaning towards just going with stock rubber ones now...definitely would be cheaper

Not a ton to gain with poly not losing anything with rubber. How long do you keeping the motor in there either way the rubber should last a good while. if I were you I'd probably go rubber

Just trying to share, please don't re-fight my battle, unless you really want to.
