That looks original in appearance. It even shows the little hairy flecks in the fiberglass. The color is good as well...more grey than black, which is how the original box looked like.
Thanks, I was trying to copy a O.E. appearance. I just wish I could remember brand/type of paint I used. I'll have to dig into the spray bomb containers to search for it.

That looks pretty nice, Mich,
I agree that rattle can paints don't seem to compare with using a spray gun. First off, the spray pattern, or fan, is not as wide as you would get with a spray gun. At least with a spray gun you can adjust the fan accordingly.

Jack, I dont have much issue with the way it sprays out. I think the paint sucks. In my opinion paint out of a rattle can just wont hold up compared to a good automotive paint.

I made the mistake of using SEM Color Coat on the inner fenders and heater box in my 81. Then I called the tech support number and found out it shouldnt be used under the hood because of heat. Live and learn.

I used the Duplicolor on mine. It looks okay but Im not a big fan of anything in an aerosol can. I used the low gloss black. If theres any old paint on it go to Pep Boys and get a can of paint stripper made for plastic bumpers. Ive used it on a ton of plastic parts and it works really well. I also used Bulldog on the box before I painted it. Motor was done in gloss black.

This looks beautiful!

Thanks. Only downside is I dont think it holds up well over time. Just my opinion though. I used John Deere medium gloss black to do the front sway bar on the wagon. Over DP primer. Had to leave the car outside over the winter due to knee surgery. The following spring I had to respray the bar and the AC box because the paint looked crappy. Im hoping its going to hold up better now that its garaged. Time will tell.

Good news, found the spray bomb of the color on my heater (yea!) Bad news, the damn label fell off. But it is Dupli-Color bumper trim (copyright 2004) & the only like product they have on the web site is Dark Charcoal Trim & Bumper Paint 11 oz. Aerosol TB102, https://duplicolor.com/product/trim-and-bumper-paint . But I did find my base coat & single stage argent silver for the license plate pocket, my lacquer semi-gloss black for under hood stuff, & an exploded quart can of Omni 161 clear.
