I got a brake lamp from a 85 Monte SS, I want to add it to my regal (83). I am looking for install tips and more importantly the wiring.

Thanks for the help

I added a third brake light to my Monte, I just spliced into the wiring in the trunk going to the brake lights.
I also added a logic module so the third brake light wouldn't blink with the turn signals.

There is the answer I was looking for where or what is a logic module?

The logic module I believe you splice in to both the right and left brake lights and it knows the difference between brake lights and turn signals so your third brake only comes on with the brakes.I did mine 10+ years ago and I think I bought my logic module from JC Whitney but I know other places online sell them just Google it. It is only needed in applications where the brakes and turn signals use the same lamps.

I don't have a picture since it is already installed, but from what I remember it was just a small plastic rectangle with a few wires coming out of it, I'm sure different makers have different styles.

My JC Whitney light came with the logic box, now it's seperate. Here it is.http://www.jcwhitney.com/logic-circuit/p2003583.jcwx?filterid=u0

I just made one of those logic modules. With 10 amp diode's and some wire.

Now, the next question where is the correct location for the 3rd brake lamp.

Could you post a schematic of your home-made arrangement?
