Adding Pearl to Base Coat?

I have been thinking about this for some years now. I noticed that you can buy small bottles of pearl in different colors from House of Color (HOC) that can be added to paint.

If you're doing the paint yourself, pearl can't be sanded and fixed like base/clear coat. The paint sprays on slightly uneven and it's a nightmare to try and fix a section to match the rest if something ever does happen. But if it's a show car go ahead, it looks really cool.
