Whas it just random wich cars that got that hood?

I think i may have one on my 81 Calise. There is no rust what so ewer on it, an i can se some spots where the paint is missing, that it is that typical alu look.. Are there any numbers or a way to id it?

use a magnet, it won't stick to aluminum if you do infact have one. I believe that it is relatively rare and was most common found on diesel cars to cut down on the weight of the front of the car because of the diesel engine. I am not sure if it was ever offered on any other model accross the board other than maybe a special order or something

Tested the magnet, and it wount stick to it 🙂 So it's aluminum for shure..
And the car is delivered originaly with the 260cid gas as i can tell from the vin id..

Aluminum hoods for '81-'88 are extremely rare. '78-'80 are much more common.

There was no defining what cars got them and what cars didn't. I've seen diesels with both steel and aluminum hoods.
Mine came off of an '84 307 car.

You're lucky. It took me over 3 years to finally get my hands on one for my car.
I found two on the west coast that were just too much to ship and I ended up getting one from a guy in Milwaukee...

wow. I'm very lucky to have it 🙂 The more i resarch my car the more things i find.. It's actualy interesting and fun..
So it's wery hard to get/find part even in the US.. Over here in Norway/Europe it culd be allmost the only one.. Perhapse..?!
