Am I lowballing?

I know this is a GP, but it’s in the northeast and rust free. I had zero takers at $3k. I know a monte ss is more desirable, but I think $3k is fine for a monte ss roller.

Here's a typical local one

A decent roller for $3k could be found if you're patient. I was on the hunt for any G body roller the last year after selling my 88 cutlass rust free roller for $2k like an idiot. Everything I found was either rusted or hacked up far from stock. Nothing close to what I let go of. I found a few SS MC's and 1 aerocoupe around $5k in running condition that needed paint/body and typical stuff.

If you have a budget at $3k look for cars a little higher priced and practice patience and negotiation tactics in the meantime. Good luck

Here are more pictures of the first posting I’m going to ask if there is any wiggle room on price. Not looking for a number or the lowest he would go just want to see if we can potentially make a deal we both will be happy with

The 87 looks worth the extra few hundos. 84 looks rode hard and put up wet. I say check em both out in person, get underneath and see what kinda vibe you get from the cars and owners.

It’s not bad, but one thing I noticed is the lead filler has started to rust out of the passenger side B pillar seam. That and the 50% price drop FB lists.

I expect rust on the car just because of age and it’s not necessarily in a perfect environment. How hard is it to fix or detrimental is that rust?

Not impossible up North. As long as you get above the $1000 dirt track car budget it's feasible. It's going to be missing parts because people take stuff apart and loose it and give up, it might have some soft spots in the floor, etc, but I see sub $4k G bodies that need work quite regularly up here.

It's not an SS but gives you an idea. Lots of abandoned projects in the Dakotas, Iowa, MN, Nebraska, Wisc. Just gotta be fast when they come up.
