In my search for certain hard to find exhaust parts, I was informed of a place in Canada called The Wrench Monkey as they were shown to have all of the parts I needed in stock. Naturally I placed an online order for these parts ( they apparently don't answer the phone ).

Get an email from them stating they terminated my order because all of the parts I wanted we're discontinued.

Then placed an order online at a place called Autoplicity for similar parts. Exact same results.

As of now, both of these places STILL list all of these discintinued/unavailable parts as being in stock ( "only 2 left", "in stock" etc ).

I'm sorry but this just chaps my as$.

I even emailed The Wretched Monkey and asked them why they list parts as being in stock when they're not and now that they know for sure they're not, why they haven't updated their site. No response.

In the states there's something of a cottage industry for "entrepreneurs" who design websites that are scripted to pull prices and inventory from OTHER sites and pass it off as it's own.

Very common on travel sites, but happens with merchandise which they then have drop shipped from another vendor. Sometimes they mark it up, others they get a referral fee.... depends on if the actual place owning the good or service being sold is aware of the tactic or not.

Sounds like you're encountering some of those...

We just kind of went through this with Lauren Engineering closing their doors and some EL Camino guys trying to get parts through vendors but they are all drop shipping the parts and show a certain number available on their sites but nothing is.

This thread title's misleading,i thought it was about showing up for a date and she looks nothing like her picture..
