I don't want to hijack anyone's thread but this" KYB vs Bilstein thread" has me questioning my current shocks, I have relatively new Gabriel's in my 86' Regal that I bought just to get it road worthy and I am wondering if it is worth it to get KYB Excel G shocks or Gas Adjust shocks or even spend the extra to get Bilstein's or even something else
I would like better handling but I have to compromise for something that can absorb the bumps on our crappy roads.

Upgrade when they break. If you see fluid leaking, or get more than one bounce out of jumping your bodyweight on the bumper, consider it time to examine an upgrade. That said, don't ruin your paint using this diagnostic...

Funny thing is I thought I bought KYB shocks but I bought them at separate times and I just checked the rears are KYB Excel G and the Gabriel's in the front are black like the KYB's.

I like my spings and shocks linear and I needed short shocks so the Bilstein had what I wanted. I nver did like those "self adjusting" shocks. That being said I do not know what is in my Jeep and I don't really care as long as I am not bouncing down the road.

I've never seen a linear shock Dyno? I've heard of progressive and digressive.

I'm just gonna quote what I literally just posted in the other thread lol

I think as long as you stick to some kind of monotube shock you will be happy. That's why monroes for gbodys are garbage, my 3 year old can compress a monroe twin tube shock, I damn near impaled myself compressing the kyb against the floor.

The monroe rep once told me that they are only like that out of the box for ease of installation, but I had at least 3000 miles on mine when I pulled them out, still felt like a slide whistle.

I'm running gas a justs which are monotube, I'm willing to bet excel g is a twin tube

I like to know what the compression and rebound rates are
