ok, i've read all the spring topics but i'm still a bit confused, i think i'm going with the 5660 up front but do you use the same in the back, if not what is the exact equivalent? i might run the car at the strip once or twice but it's more of a street car....BTW Rockauto.com is the cheapest i've found so far $53.99 i believe Thanks for any help

aww c'mon, somebody oughta know this

No, you would not want to use a front spring in the rear. For one it would fit and two, you'd have WAY too much spring rate.

The F-body cargo coils are a good option for a rear spring. I think they are Moog part number CC652 or something like that.

You'll also want the f-body rubber isolators, GM part number 10290379. Cost is $15.72 each from http://www.gmpartsdirect.com

The F-body springs can be trimmed to adjust your ride height as well unlike the G-body rear springs.

if your going to use F body rear springs you'll need the change your spring seat since the G body springs are double pigtail unlike the F body which has a single pigtail

That's what the rubber upper isolator's are for. They adapt the non-pigtail end to the upper spring seat.

8) interesting....tryna gain some knowledge on suspension so i can do mine soon

Before cutting the f-body springs is there a drop compared to the f41 rear spring, Assuming they factory springs heaven't sagged a whole lot?

I can verify that the f-body Cargo Coils will fit with the f-body isolator. I've had them on my car. Yup, CC652 is the number. I don't know if they drop over the stock g-body springs or not. My old springs were sagging badly and I had alot of *&%# (junk in the trunk) parts in the back afterwards.

Considering they take about 30 minutes to swap out, I'd install them and let them settle for about a month. Then if you want more drop, cut 1/4 - 1/2 coil at a time. It's easier to take more off but if you drop it too much, it's time to buy new ones and start over.

Unbolt the lower shocks. Jack up the rear of your car with both rear tires off the ground about 6". Use jackstands on the frame. Twist/tilt the rear up or down and the rear springs will practically fall out. Almost scary!
