Any Appliance repairmen in the house?

So, tore it out and it seems like the pump may have gotten plugged and overheated. Regardless, it's pretty much toast.

Figured out why it wasn't drying the dishes very well lately. The vent was completely plugged!

We run the cleaner crap through it once a month but if you want to be grossed out, start taking your dishwasher apart. Disgusting.

Guess I'll go look for a new one. My old Kitchen-Aid rocked for 15 years at the old house without missing a beat.

This one is 7 and was $800. Junk. 🙁

Copyright date says before my "adult" comic time, but many years ago, I worked with a guy that was about 8 years older than me, and he was a fan of the Fabulous Furry Freak Brothers and Fat Freddy's Cat. I miiight have the names slightly off. He showed me a bunch of the cartoons he still had, which as I recall looked a lot like the one in this thread.
Brian,
Some of those underground cartoon strips can be downright raunchy...and yet pretty funny. I still have a few issues in my desk.

You gotta love Mr. Natural....
Jack did you know R.Crumb was from Brooklyn? That is why the buildings, cars, and other stuff he drew clicked with me so much. OP: I feel for you, they don't make things to last anymore. My new Sears (Panasonic) microwave kept blowing fuses. Most people would just toss it but I found that there is a 20 amp 240 volt ceramic fuse inside. it is actually referred to as a "microwave fuse" and not that easy to purchase. The original Chinesium fuse blew quickly as did replacements until I found some old BUSS made in USA fuses. End of problem. My Dad used to b*tch about having to pre-wash the dishes so that the dishwasher wouldn't choke.

Mark,
I forgot that Robert Crumb was from Brooklyn. I loved his comics. I recall having a Keep on Truckin' T-shirt back in the day when the van craze was at it's height.

Jack when I was stationed in Ft. Hamilton there was a "head shop" (remember those?) up on 86st I think, west of 4th avenue. They always had a big box of underground comix on the counter. I was in heaven! ZAP! , Big *ss, Despair, Dopin' Dan, Merton of the Movement, Freak Brothers, I still have most of them.

Mark,
I found a Uneeda Comix and Bijou Funnies...and another one missing it's cover. Those are the only survivors I still have, and they're in a drawer next to a photograph taken of Jimi Hendrix at the Fillmore East back in '68. ..a concert that I attended.
Yeah, I certainly do remember the days of head shops...They were good times.
