I have a 3.42 open and I know the spider gears are on borrowed time. I already blew them up once, destroyed god gears. I broke the pins off a no slip, so it didn't slip at all. I don't know if one will hold up with slicks anyways. I have an open 7.625" carrier that needs bearings and no spider gears. I could get a lock right for that carrier but not sure it would be any stronger. I looking to be cheap and not change my axles out. At my power level, the spider gears are the weak link.
