Anyone Else Losing Interest In Roadkill by HRM?

A lot of programs are sponsored by Dodge lately. They can't make it in today's car market so they have decided to focus on performance cars and pay a lot for their advertising. With a few exceptions, Dodge / Chrysler cars have always been a poorly engineered vehicle in my opinion and like a red headed step child they have been trying to keep up with the industry leaders.

Couldn't agree more. Chrysler/Dodge has always been the worst made car of the big three, and now that they are with Fiat (let's remember Italians aren't exactly known for their quality or reliability) they are most certainly the worst made car. Their performance-oriented advertising is the only thing keeping them afloat IMO, by attracting boy-racers and soccer moms who think they are getting a Challenger underneath their Grand Caravan or Dart.

Yeah I've also found that the content of the shows as of late (pretty much since they got sponsored) hasn't been as fun to watch.

Out of the last 10 or 12 episodes, the ONLY one I enjoyed was the Nascarlo build.

It seems as if they ran out of ideas

Your arguments are all invalid.

Roadkill is always been the same in my eyes. Just two dudes doing cool stuff. I've never understood why people whine about Mike and Dave getting sponsored when they already work for multiple magazines dealing with cars and trucks. So they get free Hemi's and parts. Who cares?

I'm not knocking their sponsorships, good for them for getting sponsored. I have just found that the content hasn't been as captivating as of late. I'm just getting tired of them pushing MTOD, I'd rather keep the money for my car 😛

I care when I have to pay for ANOTHER magazine and their little "MotorTrend on Demand" app to get all the content that used to be free. I'm not some lab rat that just mindlessly runs to wherever their next BS show is. Everything they did used to be achievable by Joe Schmoe, and it was kind of motivating to see other people working on plain-Jane projects. Now everything they do has a budget of $xx,000 and isn't even realistic. They've jumped the shark in my eyes, sorry to say.

I'll own up to enjoying this just a little.

You DO realize that all the stuff is still free on Youtube? You only pay a measly FIVE DOLLARS a month to see it earlier than everyone else. There are maybe one or two shows that are exclusive to MTOD and the only reason for that is to entice people to pay into it. People buy into Netflix and all their indie bullshit documentaries and crappy shows and pay double that a month. You don't have to pay for anything. Just sit there and wait. Jesus H Christ.

Some builds are more interesting than others. To me the most boring ones are when they just try making better numbers at the track.
My favorite ones are when they try to get a POS found in a field going, or do something crazy like the wheelie truck

Hey I'm in for $5/mo and loving it. Roadkill Garage and Roadkill Extra especially are killer. Just wait for the Broughammer and you might be surprised. I think last year they tried to take it a different direction with the whole Dodge thing, and I also think they realized it halfway backfired. Freiburger and Dulcich's Mopar fetish got the better of them and they know it. I had the chance last August to see them run the Gen. Maint. and the Vette Kart at Hallett and then later work on Gen. Mayhem at TRP and the cars are legit, (that is barely operational**) they've just got a bigger budget to play with now. Cripes the only reason they have the Gen. Maint. is because they thrashed the car so bad that Dodge didn't want the thing back again..... I don't remember if the episode where Freiburger and Dulcich resurrect the crew cab Chevelle and then put it against Lucky's is on MTOD or not, but its absolutely vintage RK material....

The MTOD deal is an entire package. RK, RK Garage, HR Garage, RK Extra and Engine Masters all sort of jive together and it works great.

Did they "jump the shark?" eh I dunno. I mean apart from that very first episode and maybe a few others they've relied on their magazine connections and corporate deals and sponsors and magazine budgets to make things happen... so...

edit: and I'm wearing the FSM "jerry rigg university" shirt as I write this so maybe I am sort of a fanboy. guilty as charged.

edit 2: also damn you Jim for turning me on to this thing at last year's Carlisle!
