Well im looking for another Gbody and Canada is pretty scarce on Monte Carlo's. Has anyone from Canada or the US ever bought a car from another country and have had it brought over? Is it safe to do it this way? How expensive was it? Was the car the same as what the pictures showed? Thanks guys!

You will have to declare it at the boarder. I don't know what they charge for duty on a car. You will need a bill of sale and a title. You will also have to fill out the customs papers on it, and fax them to the boarder 72 hrs before you get there. Be prepared to be questioned at the boarder. Also, more than likely all of your stuff including your new car will probably be searched. Also read this http://importingacarintocanada.blogspot ... da-us.html

My BIL has brought over two cars from the US. The first BMW M5 suffered only very minor damage by the shipping company. Not noticeable unless pointed out. The second car, the GTI, was ruined by the shipping company. He was given money but getting the car done right ran into snags as always. Sat for a long time, soured him on owning another toy. I forget what it was to ship, not cheap plus you have taxes on the value of the car. I sure there was brokerage fees etc too.

I've heard that most of the time it is so much of a hassle its not even worth it. By the time you pay all the fees you could have hunted down and bought 5 of them in your own country. I also heard, depending on which car it is anyways.. That sometimes you even have to import more than one. The one you will be owning, one for crash testing, and one for another reason that I cant recall.. I have always wanted to know more details but assumed there would be too much crap coming along with it.

Woah didnt know that there was that much hassle. Guess ill stay away from that idea! Thanks for the info guys 😀

cheaper to ship in Canada and way less hassle. plus we have a ton of Monties in canada
