Just looking up rear end stuff in my jegs book and i see the mini spool is under only 69.99 so what is the big difference on using this over a posi unit i dont get it , trying to go cheep as possiable right now ,unemployed and going to school for autobody and paint .

a mini spool will lock your tires together if i remember right. not conducive to daily driving. a regular posi or LSD allows for slip around turns while a spool would force one tire to spin on the pavement around a turn.

Still doesnt sound like a bad thing sence ill only be driving it ocasonally and im eventually going to get a 8.5 ,just have to do something cus i have the stock unit in there right now with 229 gears .

I wouldn't suggest using a spool for a street car. It'll get dangerous in wet weather and you'll find the 7.5 axles not really strong enough for the abuse they'd get in daily driving. We use a spool in circle track but we stagger the rear tires so in the corner they inside and outside tires are turning the same rate

yea i drove a car with a locked rear around for a little while, itll eat tires faster and be very prone to drifting around almost all turns. its fun for about 2 days, then you have to start driving kind of like a race car. around every turn if you are not levely on the throttle it will skip and chatter or kick sideways. spools are more of a traction helper for straight light stuff.
