$404 is kinda steep for two calipers and a set of pads,I think I would go the Vette brake conversion route. :shock:

:shock: :shock: I didn't notice the price...plus those pads would go on the shelf, I use EBC's with my set up

Thats good to know. I wish they were 2 piston tho. But I've always liked that look of Wilwood Brake Calipers

Looks like they make them in a two piston design, although the dual piston has less surface area than their single piston.

The single piston is larger than the pad so it does not fully sit on the pad. The duel pistons actually have more contact with the pad than the single piston. The single pistons will bend the pad, the duels won't.

I wouldn't be too worried about the pad bending on these, the pads aren't really long enough for that to be a problem. I'm pretty sure the stock piston is larger than the pad as well. I'd rather get more clamping power out of the single piston set up. Actually i'd rather have dual pistons with the same surface area as the larger single piston.

An oversize caliper is available from USBrakes that is a direct bolt on for the G Body.It uses a 2 3/4 in. single piston vs. the 2 1/2 that the Wilwood kit has,although the USBrake peice isnt made from aluminum.But,its a whole lot cheaper than the Wilwood caliper,$ 82.45 each at Summit;

I got the USBrake calipers,cross drilled & slotted rotors,Hawk HPS brake pads & Russell SS brake hoses a few years ago,and with new bearings & seals,and the cost was app $ 600.00.Sure made a big difference in the braking power.

if you guys look on ebay u can buy a set of Dynalite 4 piston caliber for 150 i did it twice for my brake up grade and u can make the adapter piece to adapt the wilwood caliber to your spindle its nothing more than a .25" piece of aluminum and u make it work with ls1 front rotors if you get the 1.25" calipers.

I spoke to one of their engineers a few months ago. He said that the dual piston design was for aftermarket rear disk brake kits that use the g-body style front caliper. He advised not to use it for a front application on any car since the surface area of the two small pistons is less than the area of the single larger one and the reduced piston area would reduce clamping force on the rotor.

There seems to be two 2-piston set-ups.

"The caliper comes in a single-piston 2.50-inch diameter (prices start around $374.99 at Summit Racing) as well as two-piston configurations (1.62/1.62 inches and 1.12/1.12 inches) for vehicles that have been converted to four-wheel discs."
