anyone recover reupholster sunvisors?

If you're talking about end clips for the end opposite the pivot, I've never see them on a G body.
Right. Or any old GM car. Only late models do that. They prevent saggy visors that won't stay put. I need to decide where to screw them in. Either there may be some reinforcing structure between the roof and headliner. Or the trim strip can be drilled and screwed. I can't remember what was under there when I did the headliner. I remember structure but not where it was exactly.

Have you considered embedding neodymium magnets into the visor and headliner? They're cheap, extremely easy to utilize, hide like a dream, and work forever without wear. I'm considering going that route with my lighted 88-92 Regal visors and concealing the clip rod with a 3D printed cover.

Also, since my father turns old Singer treadle pieces into furniture I asked about the machines inside and their ability to sew through a visor board: without hesitation he said he had no doubt they'd punch through steadily. But neither of us sew.

I like it. looks good. Could use a scrub though.
I know, it is horrible. You should see the other side. That was the plan, to recover it and show how easy that is on these. Also, a pretty one costs a fortune. Even these crummy ones were costly.

Slowpoke showed some pics of the bare roof without a headliner. https://gbodyforum.com/threads/does-anyone-have-a-pic-of-a-bare-inside-front-roof.90529/#post-974957 Now I can see where to drill holes for the clips that support the visors. They make a huge difference in how the visor stays put.
Next step is to recover my visors. I will be doing the headliner on our 2001 XJ this year so ordered extra material. I now enough for these two XJ visors. The light blue I used for the Bonnewagon headliner is completely unavailable. So I will use the Charcoal I used on the XJ.
The question now is do I power the visor lights? I never use them so I can't see why I would bother. On the other hand I am compulsive about things working. If the wire for the dome light comes up the 'A' pillar it would be handy for that. Then snake it across to the other side. But I would need the Jeep harness connectors to make it work. Or maybe the GM connectors would work. The Jeep ones are very small to fit through the visor spring hole. I don't even know if the lights work but I will find out when I open the visors up.

I'll be using the dome light power that does slither up the A-pillar since the lights don't come on 'til the passenger fixes her make-up. I don't really need lights or a mirror in my visor until that one time that I really do, so it's getting wired. I'd also go crazy knowing that I installed non functional lights.
