Anyone running Ridler 610 or similar wheels on their gbody? Looking at 17x7 in front with 4” backspace and 17x8 in rear with 5” BS. Will there be issues with the stock studs not being long enough or any other clearance issues?

I bought a set of 18x8 and 18x9.5 wheels from an A Body Chevelle but they need 1/4” spacers to fit properly for the fronts to clear the center hub and the rears to clear the rear frame area which means installing longer studs which seems like a pain.

Anyone have any photos of the Ridler 610 on their ride?

5" backspace is going to be tight to frame after a tire is on it, probably require a small spacer

I replaced the SAE studs on my 81 with C3 corvette studs, required enlarging the holes in the axle shafts slightly. If you have metric studs, there might be a longer stud with the correct shank/knurl

It looks like with these cars, most aftermarket wheels are going to require longer studs. The factory studs are only about 1.7" in length, leaving only about 1" visible past the rotor / drum.

I wonder how difficult it will be to remove the studs. I would imagine the fronts need to get hammered out with a lot of force. And the rears require you to pull the axles, requiring the diff cross bolt to be removed, and axle c clips to be removed.

There is no need to pull the axle shaft to change the studs in the rear axles. There’s enough room unless you’ve got a really really long stud like the 3 inch screw in studs that are available aftermarket.

My car formerly had Weld pro stars on it which took a long mag lug nut which came close to the back face of the wheel. Typically aftermarket wheels use one of a few commonly available lugnuts. Really shouldn’t need to change the studs unless it’s a very offbeat wheel lug nut combination. In my case I replace them because they needed to run a half inch spacer to keep the tires off the frame and wanted the extra lines or more thread engagement. Spacers quarter inch or less should leave you enough stud with a conventional wheel/nut combination
