+1 for the B-body Gm and maybe someone will kill me but the other car i considered getting for a daily driver was a crown vic. If the police force can put 130k on them and not have a single problem i don't know why one that is driven daily could not last longer. that's my .02

Well, considering that I am alive today because of an airbag, I would say keep it. Go watch some crash tests on Youtube and you will see just why they are a good idea.

I have been considering a Crown Vic also. I dont know if I would want one from the police, who knows how it was driven.

I agree i would stay away from and ex-cop car but still just saying their model compared to the civilian mechanically i believe are generally the same. I do not know that for fact....unless you can get one of the V10 interceptors.FREAKIN AMAZING HAHA

don't know where you got the fwd from you can order a 09 interceptor and it has rwd. 3.27 non-limited-slip axle or 3.55 limited-slip axle

All Crown Vic's are RWD, and no, you can't order a new one.
Crown Victoria sales are now exclucively offered to fleet buyers; the police, and taxi companies. You can't buy one, but you can still buy a Grand Marquis...

While they may be Ford's, they have proven themselves as reliable cars. Most police depts. will auction off their cruisers at about 100K miles or so, or about 4 years, depending on the department. I would not feel bad about buying one at auction fresh out of police service. Sure, they drive them hard, but they are religiously maintained. Probably 99% of them are purchased by the taxi companies so they can begin to drive them into the ground. I have a friend that drives one for a taxi, and when I was making fun of the cloud of blue smoke from the exhaust, he told me "well, your car would burn oil too if it had 425K miles on the original motor". That said it all right there...

That aside, I'd still recommend a '94-'96 Caprice/Impala SS.

Don't forget that for under $40k you can have an SRT8 300
