I was told

by a few people that the 94-96 impala had power on demand bullshit, is this true as I dont wanna get into that junk ever. Is it true they are a real pain in the *ss to work on as well or would it be like working on a camaro of these same years.

Not that I know of. They use it in the newer Impalas that have a V8 and are front wheel drive. That has just recently been put into use by GM. I think they used to use it for Cadillacs and maybe some other GM brands years ago, before the time of that Impala.

I think that working on them would not be as bad as working on a G body. They have a far less complicated emission system and dont have all of this junk in the way. They will not be the easiest thing to work on, but not the worst. You also need to have some knowledge of fuel injection, but they usually dont have problems in that area. They are very basic for having fuel injection and easy to understand.

Yeah I know

basic info on fuel injected. I know they have ported injection which I hear is one of the best out there. Yeah I hear ya on the emission junk we have in our cars and yes it does get in the way more often then not. Good to hear about that though.

What about a Mercury Marauder? I see that they dont depreciate as bad, and seen good reviews on it.

Did I miss something???? This started off as a should I buy an Aston Martin thread to a power on demand is junk and your worried about how hard something is to work on???? Go find a Aston Martin and tell me how easy that is to work on my friend. 94-96 Impalas do not have power on demand as this didn't even appear in the American market until about 2005, first of all. Second it is far from junk, the Chrysler Hemi's with it have proven pretty dependable as well as being able to get up to about 30 on the highway. And the Chevy 5.3 does just as well.

They used it on Cadillacs in the early eighties. Their was either an 8, 6, or 4 cylinder mode.
