your also going to need to get the correct trans gear for your speedo to even read right because you changed your gears in the rear end and your tire size, its only a couple bucks and easy to change google speedo gear calculator and itll tell you what # teeth gear you need

This is for mileage right ? If I don't change it my miles won't be correct by my speed will be ??? Am I wrong?? Can I get it like at autozone ?

I found this website:

http://www.transmissioncenter.net/speed ... ____va.htm

No its not the mileage its the actual mph. I just kinda guessed on mine and it ended up only being 3 mph over according to the gps so im happy with it.

like 83montess said its for your speed, there is actually two gears (drive, driven) but you can get away with changing just the large number tooth gear (driven) just pull out the little bullit where the speedo cable is connected to and the driven gear will come out with it. Then look in that hole in the trans and you should see another gear look at that color and it'll tell you which one is in there. Or maybe someone knows what comes stock in a 350 trans. Then use that number, gear ratio and tire size and put it in that formula and the second link you put and it will tell you how many tooth gear you need to buy. Then you will have your correct speed. Sounds more complicated then it is

What up Fam??

I removed the little screw and removed the housing where it is located on the side of transmission with the speed cable and lost about 1qt. of transmission fluid...that sh*t came out alot...i got me another quart so we should be good...lmao...

the gear that was in there was a 20 tooth gear brown in color...i called that transmissoncenter place and they said if i didnt change it to the right one i will be off by about 5 mph...yes even with one tooth...he said every tooth is about 3-5mph off...

So went to pick up the 19 tooth gear and went to SouthWest Speeometer in Downey,Ca and they did the job for me by putting a 5/8 screw on tip for me $10.00...Im ready to install know and it wont be untill Saturday morning, super busy the rest of the week.....but im glad that i got what i needed and once again thanks to you guys gfor helping me out....
Will test it out Saturday when its done and drive it around while me and my boy look for yard sales....we love them yard sales...lmao
