Yeah, I had the cable break on my Hammer shifter. My connection at Summit was able to get me the heavier duty cable as a warranty replacement for no extra charge.
I ran a Megashifter for over 20 years before that and it never let me down. I just felt the looks of the Hammer shifter fit the look fo the car better so that's the only reason I swapped it out.
The Unimatic shifter that's in my wagon, get's used year round. So it get a salt bath every winter. I try my best to keep it lubricated. However, I have a replacement cable "in stock" should I happen to need one in a hurry.
