Hey all. I grew up around big old cars, my first car when i turned 16 was my grandmother's 74 pontiac ventura 250 6cyl, till the transmission died then a few months later ended up buying a rusty old 69 buick wildcat with a 455 rocket. Surprisingly other than the fender rusting off one night coming home from work, it ran like a top til I graduated. Decided to spend a little more money on an 88 dodge diplomat policell interceptor. Started molding it out with 3.73s, a 4 speed 727 swap and a 380hp 360 crate motor. Had it for years til I went to the Army, and somehow got into sporty imported 4 cylinder cars....built a few during the years while I was in up until a few days ago when I saw this 85 olds cutlass with the 9 vin engine, not the stock Y. 76k original moles, one owner....was an older gentle men who brought it in for inspection and passed away while in the shop. His son ended up giving it away to the shop owner, who is a huge collectable car guru. Had too many I suppose, was up for $2500....I don't think he realized that it was the 307 with the 5a heads, I ended up stealing it away for 2 grand, had him throw in the inspection and a few lights that were out and an exhaust leak repair. Car is super solid, rides smooth as can be. Interior is perfect and everything still works. Idk if I'll just throw on some top end bolt ons and cam w/a dual exhaust or buy his 350 rocket in the 68 olds he has out back...either way, glad to be back in a rwd v8 cruiser, and a GM g body to boot.
