i cant seem to get a ratchet on two bolts thats real close to the firewall back on the trans thats connects to the motor is there a certain wrench i need, i tried a 15mm i think it was and felt like it was going to strip couldnt get a good grab and if that happens then i''m screwed

shouldnt be a metric bolt....should be 1/2 or 7/16 if I remember correctly....hope this helps

I could be wrong but I was thinking it took a 14mm or 9/16. You wont be able to use a ratchet and socket, a ratcheting box wrench would work. It's not a fun job in the car but it is possible.

Are you just removing the transmission? Put a jack under the trans and remove the cross member. Slowly let the jack down, the engine and trans will angle down enough to get in there easily. It shouldn't be hard though. I've never had a problem accessing them all with a regular wrench.

9/16" wrench or sometimes you can get a 1/4" drive ratchet back there if it's one with a thin head. I've even used 24" & 36" extensions with a u-joint & socket from underneath before. There's a million ways to skin a cat!

That's the right way to do it.

no not removing the trans just the 307.. thats the only step i got left is the trans bolts in back on the motor and the driver side motor mount
