BACKFIRE DURING SHUTOFF

Took 2 degrees of timing out. Actually made it worse and dropped power. So thinking it is in the idle mixture. Been driving it making subtle changes but still need to add back in the timing. Cant get rid of this stumbling between 1600-2000 rpm. Kinda hesitates then its like the carb catches up with what I want to do. I am running ported vac and have that sorted out correctly. Car is still bad *ss under WOT though. Way quicker then before. When you back the mixture screws out that is letting more fuel in correct?

when it's running the primary should be fully open..it the door is slightly closed then it will be running rich but not enough to notice when cruising at higher speeds

idle mixture should be set with a vacuum gauge, maybe part of the idle problem.
