Having problems with my speakers cutting out randomly, all four at the same time, only when the car is running. My subs keep playing while the others act funny. The weird thing it doesn't happen consistently. For instance, yesterday the system worked fine in the ACC position, but once I started the motor, the speakers rapidly cutout, meaning that the music would "flicker". Today, I drove across town and the speakers were fine until I pulled up to my destination and they started to cutout again, but not rapidly, just for a sec at random intervals. There is no pattern, one day it only happened when I accelerated, once I took my foot off the gas they worked fine.

I have had this system for 3 years and it had worked great. Once I swapped engines this problem started and it would only happen once a month and got progressively worse so now it happens all the time. I originally thought it was the rough idle causing a bad wire to short out, but I have followed all the wires from the speaker to the HU harness, none are damaged and all are connected properly. All grounds are secure. I'm at a loss.
