Bad luck

My friend just lost is 70 442 to a fire - of all things it was the battery tender.

That sucks.

Just last week someone near me had their car go up for the same reason. Couldn't tell for sure what it was as it had a car cover on, my best guess is an early 2000's viper or aston martin.

wow, I never thought the Battery Tender could cause a fire but lots of other people are aware of it. I wonder if Battery Tender has any warning of a known problem with their product..

I've had the Ctek 7003 for the last 5 years. The only problem I've had with it is the lead with the aligator clamps has a bad connection at the connector which happened recently. The replacement harness arrived today

I have a Schumacher maintainer that has been hardwired to my trunk mount battery in my Monte for 20 years and it is plugged in 24/7 if the car is not driving.
My staggered cell Optima battery has also been in there the same amount of time.

There newer stuff is absolute junk and the wont even warranty it

CTEK's are great chargers, but they can get pretty hot on the bottom. They certainly aren't meant to be placed on a boat seat while charging a battery. Man was that guy mad....
