Bad mechanic rant.

as i am in canada, i can confirm that this wont go to court mainly because the work was sub standard, all that can happen is he take the shop to court, get a judgement an then chase him for years to collect, the legal system here sucks big time, unless your charged by the cops you aint goin to court, they will say it is a civil disput an direct you to small claims court, either way not much will arise from it, other then a judgement which is useless.

This has nothing to do with the mechanic, just my Malibu.

So I made a deal on a new B&MTH350 and B&M2400 Holeshot converter, one of the local GM dealerships has one for sale. I've checked with most the online sites, and saving $300-500 (with shipping). Didn't really want to go this route, but can't find anyone to install the 700r4. And there is no transmission shop in town that I would take a used one to for a rebuild. Plus it's new, and I know will handle the power (don't really know what to expect from the 700r4 considering what he did to my car), don't have to worry about xmember or drive shaft length..

Also have a guy lined up to swap it in, for about $200. I'll also have him go over the engine and fix all the crap that is needed there.

Then all I'll need is to have the headers hooked up to my existing exhaust and it'll be ready for the road.

Now I should sell this 700r4. What would be a good asking price?

Well about 2 weeks ago I filed a complaint with the BBB. And I just got an email from them saying that he isn't returning their calls or emails. So I don't know what's gonna happen with that.

Had my car towed to the new guy that's putting my TH350 in. Si i went to pull the 700r4 out of the trunk and put the TH350 in. And the ****ing guy had fluid in the 700r4, and none of the holes plugged. So I got transmission fluid all over the carpet in my trunk. And his 'guaranteed not to leak' engine is pissing coolant from somewhere.

I swear, tell your friends, stay the hell away from this guy.

And here we go. When he was doing the instal, he made me buy an approved flywheel. Said he wouldn't do the instal if I didn't. He charged me over $100 for this.

Now today the original transmission was removed and I take a look under the car. And what do I see???? The old greasy flywheel and bolts from my 305. And I guess most of the engine bolts were only finger tight. I think I'll be taking him to court now.
