Bad S10 Manual Steering Box?

I got a manual steering box in used~

Dang if the thing doesn't feel like it's got bad bearings .... or it was put in a parts washer..?

(Like bearings feel without grease if you spin them on the race by hand in a parts washer)

Definitely not smooth when turned by hand~

Until the seller get's back with me I'm not going to tear into it~

A dry power unit is much smoother & not much harder to turn...

Thoughts?

Update ~ Popped the top & the bearings feel like toast~

Anyone ever rebuild one?
