i am looking for your thought's on what i should use for my new project car ? it's a 86 monte carlo CL i have a 305sbc from my 88SS that is all disasembled and ready for a rebuild .or i can get a 336 BBC for like 100$.
i know it's not be biggest displacement but it is a big block !
now with the 572 out i know that there is some aftermarket suport for the tall deck blocks. intake, headers ect...
i am not looking to make big power out of the 366 just somthing good

let's hear your thought's
thanks

If only we had a smiley for a boat anchor... Seriously, don't waste the money on a 366. It's not really good for anything but adding weight to the nose of the car. Find a good 350 and the car will be quicker. Just remember that just because it's cheap doesn't mean it's not a waste of money.

if its a 366 big block then stay awy from it. those are not performance motors and have nearly zero support for parts. the only performance big blocks are 396, 402, 427, 454, 502 and 572. these are the one you want to look for. seriously the coversion from a SBC to BBC is not a small undergo. there are alot of parts that wont work and you have to buy. for a good driver car i'd stick with a sbc
