Be careful what you say online.

it's done in Texas...every year. the state has an automatic lien, by law, placed on your Real Property. can't pay your property taxes? too bad. it will be auctioned off on the county court house steps by the sheriff to someone who can
Well that's any state with physical land property. Vehicle is a little bit different.

some states don't have property taxes (Nevada, Wyoming), I doubt they automatically, by law, place a lien on your property every year. A lien that allows them to grab and sell your property without having to go through court.

this guy in NJ is an idiot. what kind of moron deletes all the emissions stuff and brags about it? then he says it will cost him $10k to fix it? what did he do with the stuff he removed? sell it? and now he's complaining? what a dipsht!

update: it gets better!
"This problem got even more complex as Sebold says he wasn't the one who modified the 6.7-liter Cummins engine.
"I don't have these parts because I bought the truck that way," he told me. "I didn't know anything about this; I didn't know that was a thing."

what kind of dumbess buys a vehicle with the emissions already deleted?

All the On-line Lawyers will give you all the incorrect info of what the Feds can't do. To tamper with emissions is a Federal Crime (period). Its in the US Code: 42 U.S.C. § 7524; 40 C.F.R
You say that, am I the only one who caught that the STATE of New Jersey is the one messing with him about it?

If I was I this situation I would have tore the truck apart. And had a garage full of parts and handed them the title and vin tag. I definitely wouldn’t go down without a fight.
