When I got my El Camino the other owner stuck a line-a-bed in it. Then he stuck wood going from one side to another side.

Now I want to know if there is any other option other then the wood going across the bed. Something that looks nicer or will it have to be something I need to buy my self. It pushes on my Tonneau Covers. the picture above should explain everything I am talking about.

Sand and paint the wood.

Easy fix

You need the bump in the middle to allow the rain to roll off.

If it was flat you would get a huge puddle in the middle.

Then your cover would sag inward.

if you can find out the company that made the cover you can check with them to see if they sell parts. Those covers came with supports when new....

Or you could use some aluminum stock and make some supports. But if you don't bend them up, you could end up with ugly water spots from puddling.

I looked at other covers online and the supports they have are not nearly as tall so I'm thinking that cover may be stretched and that's why he had to put the wood in to keep it tight

Well the cover is from 86 and is from the dealer. So it never been off the car. I do have to stretch it a little to get it to get on the buttons. Sometimes it does get annoying trying to see over it. I thought maybe I could get something else that would do the same thing. I am fine with leaving it the way it is, but if anyone has any suggestions let me know.

Thanks
