If you are talking about installing studs in the rear of the block to mount your trans IMO you would create the possibility of damaging the threads when installing the trans which you probably wouldn't know until you try putting a nut on it.
I agree. In a stock floor car, it’ll be more trouble than it’s worth. That’s not to say you can’t screw 2 threaded rods in to guide the trans in and take them out after it’s against the block.
