Good day today! My Dad tagged along and I brought my 8-year-old as well. Ran up to Belton, about 30 miles north of my house in Austin, and went both to the Belton Wrench-A-Part salvage yard and to the Winternationals Swap Meet. Pics from the Swap Meet are in the Events area if the forum.
We went to the salvage yard first. My wife broke one of the climate control knobs off her '01 Grand Prix, and as usual I had a long list of misc stuff for the Roadmaster wagon and '88 Cutlass. Belton is unique in the fact that many of it's cars come out of the Fort Hood military base in Killeen, the next town over. You have to watch for rust, as soldiers come from all over the country and bring the cars with them. I've even see Alaska plates out in the yard.
Some GOOD G-bodies in here, check out the Century Turbo Coupe! Also lots of neat old cars.
Here's the salvage yard pics:
Check out this old Ford. TONS of parts in good shape. Engine and trans still in it. Great dash, great chrome. Hope it gets well parted before it's date with the crusher.
Got some nice lock knobs off this Malibu
Well picked over Chevy ragtop
Caprices
Lone Longroof...someone was just finishing pulling the engine
White over maroon Custom Cruiser. Made me miss my old car
Olds Dynamic 88
How about a BIG old Caddy?
This Corvair was CLEAN. Stick too. Hood was taken off and laying in front of it. TONS of parts, great chrome, zero rust.
Big Caddy, perfect rear bumper laying in the dirt behind it
63 Chevy Biscayne. Very straight and still lots of parts
How about a Roadmaster with a green octopus holding money painted on it....ok then...
And a Roadmaster that had burned....notice the melted tail lights?
G-Bodies
This was what was left of a Monte Carlo SS...poor thing!
How about a 1980 Buick Century Fastback Turbo Coupe??? Had a perfect metal hood with Turbo bulge that I HOPE someone yanks for a Regal, also a super rare rear spoiler. I snagged a set a perfect seat chrome trim off this car for my Cutlass. Rare car!
Look at this beast
And I SO want the Olds 455 out of this car for my Cutlass!!!
Hope ya'll liked the pics!
