Which casting numbers are the best for a rocket build? I sold the LS1 block the other day and lost my *ss on it due to not being able to afford finishing it. I think I'll take the cash and start a mild rocket build but I dont know much about the best foundation to start with. You guys would know better than anyone else....

i'm gonna agree with 68-70 '70 preferred because they may have the highest horsepower rating and obviously a 4bbl quadrajet 8)

Just out of curiosity....how many years was the "Olds 350 Rocket" in production? Also, do any of you guys have any good links to a bio on the "O 350 R"?

You do realize that the term "Rocket" was used on every Olds V8 ever made and has no performance meaning whatsoever, right?

The gasoline Olds 350 was made from 1968-1980. The 68-76 blocks have solid main webs, the 77-80 blocks have thinner walls and windowed mains.
