Friends, looking to find out best way to clean off old over spray and polish up my factory wheel well trim on my 85 Cutlass. Just looking for a quick diy method I can do at home for an upcoming show. I have a few ideas but want to see what others think/do. Thank you!
I have used various brands of chrome polish on my trim rings and that seems to do a good job removing overspray and getting rid of light scratches.
On my black trim I have used the new mothers back to black polish and that works fairly well. Just need to make sure it is wiped on until dry or dust and dirt sticks to it.
A claybar might help and would not scratch the trim.
Lacquer thinner works well to take over spray off chrome trim. Never-dull works great for oxidation but haven't sent it around for years, it comes in a blue can, an you wipe it on wipe it off when it dries, the chemical in it does the work.
