Mother's Wire Wheel spray gets rid of the brake dust pretty well. Not perfect, but a toothbrush and the solvent will get the rest of it.

okay, so im defenitly gunna try to get these wheels, and ive seen some deals on ebay. will they fit on my 83 cutlass? whats my 5 lug bolt pattern?

Your bolt pattern is 5x4.75. Be careful when buying wheels! You need 4 with a 4 in back spacing, so a set off an F body will not work. Only 2 F body wheels are 4 in, the others are like 5 in. There is a front to rear offset difference. I know this because I used a set on a 1984 Z-28, and they were different.

Oh, a cool tip is that the stickers in the center caps can be removed by popping them out with a screwdriver from behind ( GTA wheels, not Enkei's!). Then, you can find a set of reproduction stickers for your brand of car and use them instead. We did this with the Camaro and used a set of stickers for a Z-28. They were almost exactly the same size and it was a nice detail since they matched the gray color of the emblems on the ground effects.

Some more pics of the Enkei's:

The nice thing about these Enkei's is they come from The Fatherland ( Germany) and not China, like many newer wheels do. (I saw a set of chrome "Giovanna" 22in wheels at the tire shop and they were made in China! Italian in name only, I guess) They are a 2 piece design with a spun outer rim and a cast spider that is full welded to the rim.

They will not work without spacers. The one pictured is a rear wheel with a shallow offset, which won't fit a g body.

^ So does that mean if i go to the scrap yard to find some IROC rims that I will need four fronts IROC rims to fit correctly?

Sure does.

you can easily use spacers with either the iroc or f body mesh rims....not a big deal if ur just running a street car, now if you plan to go to the strip then why would you even want either wheel, they are extremely heavy....

Yeah not really looking to build a strip car, but I don't really want heavy rims either. But ... I think finding some decent IROC rims might be the ticket for decent looks until I can get something like and the perfect size ($$$$$) ... 8)
