Black GTA wheels on a cutlass?

Spacers also have a bad reputation because they change where the load is placed on the stud and can cause failure in extreme circumstances. That's why they are banned in many kinds of motorsports.

Does anyone have an "economical" solution for mesh rims for g-body's?

GNX rims are typically out of sight. GTA rims are hard to find (and I'll need 2 complete sets and end up with 4 rear wheels left over). And to have custom mesh rims made (like BBS or Kodiak or something) ... you're looking $400-$600 each .. ouch.

I guess I'll keep a look out for some GTA at scrap yards or rummage sales or something. Maybe I'll get lucky on 2 sets.

Eventually, you will find them. Sometimes it takes a while to do so. Try swap meets too.

Classic Industries sells them for 160 each. They come with a black center with the rim in aluminum. I checked their site and they don't show them but, I have a catalog for the Firebird/Trans Am and they are in there.

Regarding putting F-body wheels on G-Body's. You do not actually need 4 front wheels. The trick is to run the front and rears reversed, with a 1/4" spacer in the front. I have run my GP that way for years (not even including the down time for rebuild). You may have to switch to longer studs. My first set of rotors had long enough ones, but when I switched rotors I had to replace the new studs since they were too short.
