The old car seems to lack a theme as it was, and you should pick one theme you are going for on this one and stick to it. I am not trying to be an *ss on this, but you asked for opinions and this is mine. You can do too much on a car, and when you do it looks like you are trying too hard or compensating for a lack of real performance. It makes the car look like a teenage boy's car more than something owned by an adult who knows better. I tend to like stock looks on these cars, and I would suggest looking at either a normal Salon, or the 1983 Hurst/Olds 15th anniversary edition cars for guidance. The Salon with the wide trims needs to have all it's front chrome and normal headlights to work off the chrome lower moldings. The opposite end of the spectrum is the Hurst. It has no chrome outside the wheels, but it does have the chin spoiler, deck wing and hood scoop as well as a Black/Silver paint job with a red stripe separating the two colors. Then there is the 85+ 442 package which uses the two tone and no lower chrome, but it does retain some chrome trim elements. All of those cars represent a good balance of color and trim to look at when trying to pick the right look. The wheels do not have to be stock, and neither does the exhaust, or even the stripe package, but these three are good examples of what generally works with what. I also would say that with any dark color, the right chrome wheels look the best. Also, whatever you choose, do yourself a favor and leave off the ding strips. They really break up the lines of the car. Again, this is one man's opinion. Take my critique however you wish. In the end it is your car to do what you wish with.
