What other people think is not of great importance, but we all seem to obsess over it. I tend to drive functionally beautiful pieces of machinery every day ( like Fronty the wonder truck) that no one pays the time of day to. I try to keep them nondescript so that they fly under the radar. People tell me to buy a new car, 329,000 is too many miles for a daily driver, but it does not affect me. However, I do tend to wonder what others think of the crap I actually take the time to build myself. Why? I dunno. It makes no logical sense in that it serves no technical function. Maybe it's just something innately human, part of our mental makeup as a social being that always wonders about the opinion of others. However, ultimately I don't build stuff for other people, I build it for me. After all, if you are building a car for yourself that is the most logical path to take. My car may not fit anyone else's description of what they want in a car, but then again, their car may not fit my description either, and who's to say who is right on trivial matters such as this. Where am I going with this? I dunno anymore... I got lost in a stream of consciousness! :?
