Anytime I put in a courtesy fuse, it blows - instantly. So I guess there is a dead short or its drawing too much juice somewhere?

Anyone had this problem?

That was my guess too... I replaced the lighter with a 12v one from 3M that I got from Wal Mart. If I remember it is blowing the fuse without the lighter even hooked up.

Thanks for the picture.

How exactly are all those orange wires coming out from the junction box? If I could undo one at a time, then see what works and what doesn't, that would be ideal.. but I've never pulled the fuse box off... I don't want to create another issue...

The black dot in the middle of the orange wires is a splice s228 in the dash harness they are all hooked together.
The dome light had a connector above the left side of the head liner. The under hood light has a connector also.
My Camino has a dome light dimmer module but they are wired to the ground side of the dome light on the white wire.
I have seen the printed circuit on the back of the cluster short out at the clock and cause the Ctsy fuse problem.

I am guessing an s228 spice is near impossible to disassemble?

I have to under dash lights, glove box light and 2 rear sail panel lights.

I don't have a factory clock though.. no underhood light either..

I just wish there was a more precise way to narrow this down...

You might look at any aftermarket components, The orange wire is a good 12V source .for alarms ,stereos ECT.
I have even seen coins in the rear seat lighter socket like on Cadillacs ,causing the CTSY fuse to pop.
Yes that splice is tough to get to its taped into the dash harness.I wish I had a definite answer.
