:x I know how it is to restrained from work, I was out for 6 weeks when I fractured my back. I begged my boss to let me work anyway, even if to just sit on my *ss and look up parts. I ended up sitting on the porch all day smoking cigarrettes and watching the grass grow, lol.

LOL......wrong questions to ask smart *ss Pontiac owners huh?

more like wrong question to ask car guys in general haha. If its an olds you are building you may want to try 442.com, the tech articles they have there are very interesting, especially the FAQ. Also they have some original reviews of stuff like the 64 442, a delta 88 cop car, and a few W machines. Cool stuff to read, especially the part where a 64 442 gets 25mpg on the highway...
Hope you get better soon... I agree with the DR. about 442.com. Lots of great info to browse through there.

Thanks for the support guys.

oldsofb, I've read that article on the 599hp/ pump gas 403 dick miller built. Just makes me want to build mine even more.

I've been reading through that olds FAQ site for days now, i'm glad so many people before me built these engines and paved the way.

I'm considering something when i get the new heads for my project, having them milled to bump the compression. It's just a thought.

Just wondering here, are the 350 rockets similar in bore/stroke to a SBC 350?

As jaw dropping as it would be to build that engine, it seems totally impossible.

Where would you even start? It seems like anything short of a team of engineers and metal casting would make it impossible to get the parts required.

It would be awesome though. one of a kind DOHC rocket V8 from the late 60's.

Thats no rocket, thats a computer guided missile. And yes, its basically impossible to remake, which makes me very sad. I would love to hear a 455 at 7k RPM.

would it be possible to make that engine again? I mean the engine specs have to be somewhere. but man a DOHC 455 would be insane pushing 700hp at 7grand

that is an impressive motor but with the size of the main bearings of 3" and the 2.5" rod bearings I don't think those bearings would last too long with the engine reving 7000..
