Re: $500 Parts Car, Steal or Rip off?

I'd say go for it Riley...see if you can get it a little cheaper though. I've got a guy down from $800 to $400 on a decent 78 non running 2dr Malibu so there's something to be said for bargining.

If you don't build it....those are way nicer seats than the one's we talked about or for that matter there's your complete interior swap to your other one.

Re: $500 Parts Car, Steal or Rip off?

I see easily more than 500 bucks worth of parts there so if I needed anything off of it id probably snag it. If you can get it a bit cheaper even better, as a whole the car doesn't even look too far gone I might even be tempted to try and save it.

If that CD player behind the drivers seat is worth something, make sure it accidentally gets bumped under the drivers seat next time you're checkin out the car, lol. With any luck you may get a $200 radio with that $500 car.

Hell if you don't want it, i'll buy it!

Re: $500 Parts Car, Steal or Rip off?

Not to point out obvious but you said console shift...looks to me like only shifter left. Where is the console? Seems a little high to me for a parts car that's in rough shape

Re: $500 Parts Car, Steal or Rip off?

If you actually read it you would see he said he has a console he would toss in, and when I talked to him he said it was the same color as the interior and in good shape.

Re: $500 Parts Car, Steal or Rip off?

$400. would be a good deal, but $500. is kinda high. You can see the passneger side has some rust on it, and the interior might be dried out and crack at anytime.

Re: $500 Parts Car, Steal or Rip off?

I do not know how hard it is to find these cars in your area. I have restored a lot of cars over the years in a shop and for my self and friends. I would say if you are going to build a car it is allways best to start with a clean car with little to know rust. You will save money the cleaner the car is to start with. The car in the pic's looks beat I do not see to many parts that you could use with out restoring them first.

Re: $500 Parts Car, Steal or Rip off?

well worth it . 2 weeks ago that would have been scrap price alone almost .

I see over $ 600 in parts there. not counting small stuff.

Re: $500 Parts Car, Steal or Rip off?
