my brake pressure is lost.. pedal does to the floor, still fluid in the resivor and since it's dark out cant see if there's line rusted , drove the car all day pedal wasnt strong but still the car stopped.. any other ideas other then the lines?

the same thing is happening to my saturn. i tried replacing the pads shoes drums and rotors and nothing. theres no leaks so that means its the booster. it should be an easy fix im just to lazy to do it and its too damn cold.

i have the same problem, when i'm at stoplight, i have to push the pedal down, let off, then push the pedal down, keep doing that or just put it in park til the light turns green. no leaks or bad hard or soft lines, pads and rotors are still good, full of fluid, i was gonna try to bleed em to see if i have air in the lines, but i doubt that's the prob, but I'm leaning towards the booster, the master cylinder and resovoir i had replaced, so im almost certain it's the booster. how hard is it to replace that?

i dont know yet..had to leave the car for the night at my girls house.. booster seemed fine few days ago when car was off i pumped it and pedal was compressed.. i hope it something easy and not the boost cause those are like 130$ that i dont have

The brake booster will not cause a soft pedal if it is bad, it will make the pedal hard.

Something is wrong somewhere in the hydraulic system. Look for leaks in the wheel cylinders and calipers. Look for brake fluid running down the brake booster behind the master cylinder, it might be kinda hard to notice. Check all of the brake lines, I think the ones on the rear axle tend to get very rusty, so look close there. If the lines are very rusty, you might not see anything dripping. The fluid might be getting absorbed by the rust, so look for wet spots. Make sure the brakes are bled properly!! If everything else looks good, there is probably an internal leak in the master cylinder that you wont be able to see.

wow, so you have NO pressure at all....yeah now i'm kinda worried about losing all pressure and having no kind of braking at all! kinda don't wanna drive the car either now. as a matter of fact i have noticed it getting worse. $130 is a lot, but it's a must have in our case tho...sucks, i'm running into all kinds of lil mechanical problems with my car, just another one to add to the list

If your not losing fluid & ypur pedal slowly goes to the floor it is more than likely your master cylinder. As stated before, a booster will give you a hard pedal with little stopping power. - Jon

the problem outcome..

well think my master cyinder is good not too certian but rear lines look fine, lines coming from the lower vavle the lines are cracked i believe, its wet ,hard to see cause it's going throughthe frame..and it's only about 4in crack, however lines dont look good. also driver wheel cylinder is bad, so assume the other side is. another thing why is the wheel cyinders so cheap 9-10$ at autozone ? an a shop wanted $200 for theres

Did the shop say they would change them for that price, or was that the price just for the parts?
