So I'm bringing my Malibu home today (finally). And the weathers been nice lately so I'm gonna see what I can get done out in the parking lot. Also have a new camera so I'm gonna have some new pics and videos of the car to post soon too.

I'm gonna swap the valve covers, and try to get the knockdown hooked up to the bracket. And CAPERKEV is coming soon to help help me with the rest. If I'm luck I'll have it on the road in the next few weeks.

Been a long time waiting on what should have been a simple engine swap lol.

Good to hear and congrats on getting it done. Nice to have good friends and see forum members helpin each other out. As many have said this forum is one of best.

This forum is in a class all it's own.

That's good news, man. I'm glad to see that you haven't abandoned ship.. Once it's back on the road and you're behind the wheel you'll feel better about it. Good luck, and keep us posted on your progress.

OK here's a few pics:

Here you can see the missing hood bolt:

Here's the crack on the valve cover:

Here's the scary clearance between a belt and pully:

Here's the kickdown mess:

The orange circle is where he had the kickdown going through, the red circle is the other open spot. And the yellow circle is where the cable is supposed to mount. As you can see the cable is WAY to far forward.

His exact words were 'I guarantee it won't leak'....

And here's a little teaser video. I plan to change the exhaust this summer, but here what it sounds like through the tiny pipes:

And just so you know, its -5 celsius (23 fahrenheit), so that's what you see coming out of the exhaust.

Nice! These little things take time and can be frustrating. Just try to remember that they are minor. Once you get it back up to driver status it'll all fade into distant memory. Glad things are progressing again.

Here's the valve cover issue I was talking about:
