I broke a starter bolt off in the block I went and got the screw extracter with the reverse spiral drill bit....got it lodged in and drill wouldn't turn it it was gonna burn the drill out so I got a adjustable wrench and turned it and it was gonna break the extracter off in the bolt what do I do?....what if I can't get it out...

pb blaster it, then tap it with a hammer, not hard, just tap it for a few mins. then try again. if that doesnt work get a map tourch, to heat the bolt and then try. if that fails, get it drilled out at a shop. oh and is any of the bolt sticking out or is it in the hole? if a lil is sticking out then flatten 2 sides of it with a grinder and use a vice grip to turn it.

pb blaster is a lube like wd-40 but WAYY better. heating it up sometimes helps, dunno why. the tapping helps the lube penetrate deeper, to make it easier. if that dont werk, take it to a local shop and ask them to do it for you.

Is there any way I can drill it out and re tap it?...if I use the right size drill bit couldn't I drill it out and then break the rest of the bolt up in there so the bolt will go in right after...

If all else fails and the bolt is flush with the surface of the black, get a cut off wheel or dremel tool and cut a slash in it and get it out with a big flathead screwdriver.

another trick is to heat up the area around the bolt. then melt a regular wax candle on the bolt, by the threads. the wax will be drawn up the threads, helping it to come out easier.

If the easy out is not stuck in the bolt, the next solution is to drill the bolt and not damage the threads. If the threads are damaged its time to install a helicoil kit.

Use a lot of Liquid Wrench. Then try some reverse drill bits, and if you are lucky, the bolt wil break free and back out as you are drilling. I would find it hard to believe that a starter bolt could be stuck too bad. So you have it a good chance that it will come loose. I had a exhaust manifold bolt break off this past winter and I had to tear it down and take the head to a machine shop. So, I know how you are feeling. Good luck.
