What is a heli coil kit...how much do they cost....it was gonna break the reverse thread extractor so I'm gonna get one size bigger and try again if that don't work I'm gonna drill it out...ill try to heat the area but all I have is a propane torch.....oh and the bolt was to long and broke of when tightening pretty sure its bottomed out in starter hole closer to oilpan...

Crap, that's the worst. We used to bust starter bolts off all the time on our trucks but they came right out because there was no tension on the remaining piece. Your's is jammed up so the best way is to start with a small bit and drill it out. Then go up in bit size until it is all most the same as the threads and it should come out with the EZ out. Be sure to keep it centered and straight and Cobalt bits work best.

Use a left handed drill so when your drilling it you may have some luck and the drill will spin the bolt out. You must have used a bolt that was too long and it bottomed out. If you do drill it out and mess up the thread you can always repair it with a helicoil.

So what is a heli coil?? If I mess the threads up won't I have to use tap and die type thing to put thread back but won't it change bolt size for one of my starter bolts?

A helicoil is just a thread that you can insert and use the original bolt size. You have to drill the hole larger than what it is but it's no big deal and pretty easy to do. Drill out, tap helicoil in, thread bolt.

If you drill it out be careful that you are centered. A helicoil that is off center is about worthless if the bolts don't line up.

the propane torch will work fine. if it were me i would drill a hole into for the extractor. spray it with pb blaster heat it for like ten min then spray it again and finally tap the extractor in and turn the bolt out. it that dont work i would just do the heli coil kit.

So I got liquid wrench let it soak in heated it and put the new extractor bit in one size bigger than the original that waws gonna break taped the new one in cranked it and broke it off in the bolt....so now I have a broken bolt with a broken extractor in it....tryed drilling itr pout and broke the drill....so my question is if thers a starter I can get that uses the front two starter holes instead of one front and tghe rear bolt or if there is a rear bracket I can get to saport the rear of the starter or should I just use heli coil and to use it shouldn't I kinda carve the bolt and bit out with smaller drill bits first....and the thing is now that the bit is stuck in there the drill doesn't seem to be doing any thing....and for a 3/8 bolt heli coil how big will the initial hole be to put the heli coil in.....help....this is a ****n nightmare

That sucks. The extractor is hardened steel so you might be able to shatter it with a very sharp pointy punch. Work at it until all the bitts and pieces are out. Then go up in drill sizes and drill until it's able to be extracted or chipped out.
