Buick Regal factory 4 speed

I have a 4 speed, Chevrolet pattern bellhousing, the fork, brand new Hurst shifter and overhaul kit for the trans listed in the parts section. I also have a stock shifter but it would need rebuilt and I cant imagine why anyone would use it when they could use a Hurst.

I'm just wanting the clutch pedel and linkages. I have the bell housing already. Would the four speed bolt to my bell housing . If it would any idea how much would it be worth. I am running a 350

If you're wanting just the clutch linkage parts, I'd offer like $75 to start with and probably top out around $125.00, because although manual trans-equipped g bodies are "rare", those parts aren't impossible to find, and they make re-pops of everything needed for the swap. And as stated earlier, the trans will be a Saginaw (unless by some miraculous twist of fate it was replaced by a Super T-10 or Muncie at some point), and maybe worth $100 to somebody.

Just so you know, you can buy reproduction clutch pedals and linkage from the aftermarket, without having to find a manual trans car that's being parted out. Not sure what the parts from that Buick would be worth. Not trying to be a smartass, but they're worth whatever someone is willing to pay for them.

I too do not want to sound like a smart @$$ but if your looking for a project car and someone has taken some of the parts off for paint, why is that too much work? If you buy a project car and it needs painted, it will need parts removal for paint. Yes it's true that Saginaws are not worth much but it amazes me at how many G body guys want or have already swapped over to manual. I personally think it's a hell of a nice project car. Damn rare having a Regal with a manual trans. Once they're parted, they're gone forever. If it were closer, I'd own it.

Looked @ a 79 Regal yesterday that was Pontiac powered. Although cars are rare don't mean they are worth a lot. I have a 1984 Mustang turbo GT convertible 5 spd - 731 made that year and mine is one of one on the color. 5.0's are pulling more, hopefully the tide will turn.

I don't think you sound like a smart *ss. It's just too far gone for me personally. It has rust, there's no telling what is hiding under the primer and it's likely incomplete. There are too many nicer cars out there in my opinion. I'd love to see someone save it from a bad end though.

The 1979 Regal with a 4-speed is a rare car. My sources show that less than 400 were made. The 4-speed was an option ONLY in 1979 and the 231 V6 2bbl was the only engine choice. I believe they came with a 2.93 rear end. Pontiac offered the Saginaw 4-speed in the Grand Am with the 301 V8. Again, another rare car- only 233 were produced (That figure came from PHS - Pontiac Historical Society) The manual transmission cars of this era (1978-79) are relatively unknown. I currently own a 1978 Cutlass Calais with a Saginaw 4-speed. It also has its original Chevy 305 V8 2bbl motor and 2.73 rear end. This is the second Calais like this I've owned in the last 12 years. It's a fun car and draws a huge crowd at all the car shows I attend. Very few people even know these cars exist. I even had a gentleman tell me he was a mechanic at a local Olds dealership from 1980-1992 and never once saw a manual transmission Cutlass in person until he saw mine last year! Prices of these cars are still very low because no one knows that they're out there. Once people start getting into them, prices will go up. They're very undervalued. Grab one now while the price is right.
