Has anyone else had an oil leak at the rear of the engine block near passenger side? Would this just be the valve cover leaking? Yes the rear main is also leaking but this other leak is near where I stated above. Thanks

I had a leak that in that area that turned out to be the housing for the rear main was not tight and the oil was getting thrown out between the block and housing..it was on the right side rear of the engine since crank was throwing that way ....

Yep I need to have my rear main repaired/replaced. I'd do it myself if I had a second car and a place to work on my car.

if you can find a place to work you can drop the transmission and I think you can remove the main seal housing without removing the oil pan...it sucks not having a place to work and a spare car to drive.....how much oil is leaking?

Well Since I put 50w oil not a whole lot(But always puddles). I do check the oil level every time I stop the car. My concern is the pollution. Oh and Yeah had I the money right now i'd get a malibu wagon or a caballero, or even a turbo regal. I do have a friend who has a really large driveway and I've been there b4 to work on my car and he helped me out. Thing with that is I hate to have to rely on someone. He does have a tendency to flake on me alot. But I don't blame him life happens.

don't worry about having to rely on someone, that's what friends are for...and as long as your willing to help him out you should have a clean conscience

if you like working on cars see if there is a race track near you and if you have the time see if there are any teams looking for help for the pits..that way you can learn a few tricks and they'll most always be happy to give you a hand on your car and they usually have a shop and tools where you can do you car....I help out building and crewing on a car and I did a frame off on mine last winter in the shop...
