I need to get a wiring harness for my Jeep, common problem with the auto temp control, the power wire in the harness overheats and creates a bad connection. The local shops don't have the repair harness in stock and will take 2 weeks plus $44 and not sure if it fits the OEM resistor. They have the upgraded resistor that comes with the harnesses but that will take at least 2 weeks and will cost $122 plus tax and $15 for shipping if I don't want to make a 2 hour round trip. So I ended up at RockAuto and purchased the upgraded resistor which comes with the harnesses for $92.35 C shipped to my door which is scheduled to arrive Feb 4. This country is so friggin backwards and the companies which close due to looses better not cry about it.

Are you referring to the connector above the glovebox that runs the blower, or the actual resistor connector? I had the one above the glovebox fail on me, and it was easier to split that power wire off and use a separate connector on it.

Just wait for the BCM's to start failing.............

Aaah, I have lucked out there so far but I also have the manual controls on mine. You might want to go ahead and check the other connector though, as the terminal in the connector was not rated correctly and can cause your blower to act possessed over bumpy roads.

My BCM has a Mopar Remanufactured sticker on it already, so hopefully I won't have to worry about it for a while.

it is a common problem where the power terminal overheats on the auto temp resistor....

The story of local auto parts store is

"We don't have it in stock but can get it from the warehouse in 2 days!"

Yeah but I can order it from online for half the price in 3 days.....

I'll always give local stores like Napa a shot for stuff I'll know they have like brake parts. Often they are within the price of what Rock Auto has and I can get them tomorrow.

Sometimes though wow....

I have a '98 Grand Cherokee Laredo. It is unfortunately down with a bad transmission now, but will be fixed after this cold snap passes.
