Caddy 5sp?

So Im at a junk yard and they have a cts 02 or 03 v6 with a 5sp. I tried to looking up cts 5sp but have come up short so far. Any idea what that transmission is? I can get it cheap ill bet so Im curious to find out what it is and whats available for it. ofcoarse if possibly it can be made to work with my set up.

Are they any good. Im gonna do a little quick research my self. I know Im probably waisting my time since I would need it for a L96 and if they were any good I probably wouldve seen it mentioned before

Aisin AR5 from the Saturn sky/ Pontiac Solstice is a pretty good trans. Can tolerate quite a bit more than it's rated for. I have a friend that has one behind a turbo 5.3 in a lifted Volvo 740 wagon. He won't clutch dump it but does roll ons with four big dudes in it, has a hand brake for general hooliganism, etc. They are cheap and can be adapted to sbc for sure. Probably most others too.

Yeah well just incase anybody else asks, its a good 5sp if your gonna cruise but behind an L96 its gone first hole shot with any decent rubber behind it. Oh well was worth looking into

The 05-07 CTS's Manuals are even a 6 speed. A potential problem is because the transmissions are for IRS, I don't know if they have a slip yoke on the back... then they would need some type of telescoping drive shaft, like on a modern Mustang.
